Currently, you are not able to enter Firearms Discharges via Blue Team. These types of incidents will need to be entered in IAPro. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call.

I don't see the Firearm Discharge in BlueTeam. I went in to enable it but I don't see it listed as one of my options. Is it available in BlueTeam?

Also I went into the Administrator part in the maintenance picklist, thinking I might have to add it but I don't see it there either. I tried adding it but it said it was already there.

Any ideas?

Go in as Administrator and insure your user account (Rosemarie Downing) has the Purge Capabilities. It is one of the check boxes. After that you should see the Purge Button when clicked on Incidents. Be carefull with purging, because it is just as bad as deleting, but you are given the ability to document why the purge happened.

I tend not to work with Powerpoint for my presentations too often. Just a personal preference I have. I'll email some documents that you may find useful that you can use in the meantime.

I can't seem to find where to go to do a purge. Can anyone direct me on how to do that or give any tips. I've been deleting cases and logging it in my notebook; however, I want to start purging numbers so that I can document it in the system.

I believe Russ has been transferred to another section. I forget the gentleman's name, but I believe there was a member of the Ft. Collins PD in the BlueTeam training course with you today. I'll try to point him out to you later today at the conference.

Yes, it helps. We have not deployed it yet. I was asking because currently, certain incidents may never reach IA if command staff wants to handle it at dividion level. I wasn't sure how to handle that in IA PRO. An option would be to go ahead and have IA over see all incidents but I just wanted to know if we had any other options.

Yvette,

Most agencies that use IAPro, only give access to IAPro to their IA/Professional Standards investigators. It sounds like in your case you've deployed the application to supervisors who are not assigned to the IA/Professional Standards Unit, is this correct? If this is the case, unfortunately you are bumping up against some of the problems that can occur when the software is not used exclusively within the IA/PSU Unit.

That said, with the latest release of IAPro (v5.1) we have introduced a feature that will allow a user to only view and change cases assigned to their organizational unit. Please keep in mind that you will need to upgrade to IAPro 5.1 and will need to configure each supervisor's IAPro user account to utilize this new feature. For assistance with this, please contact our support line at 800.620.8504 ext. 2.

One other note:
As mentioned, most agencies use IAPro only within their IA or Professional Standards Unit. There are some agencies that deploy it outside of that unit to field supervisors. We've found that this often cause some usability problems since supervisors do not use the software on a regular basis. In order to address this problem, we will most likely be implementing some case assignment features into BlueTeam. This will allow you to assign cases to field supervisors. The supervisors will be able to access cases using the BlueTeam application and work up the case that way. We're hoping this will be a much simpler way to handle external supervisory investigations.

Is there a way to allow supervisors to update statuses on incidents while only giving them access to incidents that involve the people they supervise? If so, how do you do it?
